In 2022, Carleton celebrated its 80th anniversary, providing an opportunity to reflect on how the university has evolved and changed through the years. This year epitomizes this evolution, with tremendous successes, awards and growth in our research enterprise.

The 2021 Research Review highlights the extraordinary growth in research, discovery, partnerships and impact, despite the challenging circumstances of a global pandemic. Our award-winning researchers rose to the challenge and delivered important innovative research findings, new industry and community collaborations and a notable rise in funding.

This was a particularly remarkable year for Carleton as we looked back to our founding in 1942 as a fledgling college for returning Second World War veterans. As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we are proud of the progress we have made, particularly in our ever-growing research programs.
